Summer Haiku

 Talofa bloggers,

Today's activity I did was summer haiku. A haiku is a poem that doesn't need to rhyme and only needs 3 lines. The first and last line has 5 syllables while the middle line hasb7 syllables.  It was easy to come up with my poem because it was about summer and there are lots of themes to come up with. I chose the sun because it's a sunny day here in Christchurch. Here are my poem and picture:

Please let me know if there are any mistakes. Are there any improvements that I should do?

Week 1 Day 2 Activity 1 Up in the air

Hey there Guys and Girls,
Today I will be comparing these two pilots, Amelia Earhart and Jean Batten.
I hope you enjoy!

Amelia's Place of birth: Atchison, Kansas on July 24, 1897.
Amelia's Place of death, or where she disappeared: Pacific Ocean, Howald Island, Papua Guinea, (age 39).

Amelia's favourite colour is brown. Her middle name is Mary. During world war 1 Amelia became a nurse's aid in Toronto, Canada, to tend wounded soldiers. On December 28, 1920, a pilot called Frank Hawks gave Amelia her first ride in an aeroplane. How did Amelia Earhart disappear? Well, here's the answer, Amelia was the first woman to reach the Atlantic Ocean. During an attempt to make a circumnavigational flight of the globe in 1937, in a Purdue-funded Lockheed Model 10-E Electra, Amelia Earhart and navigator Fred Noonan disappeared in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

Jean's Place of birth: Rotorua, New Zealand on September 15, 1909.
Jean's Place of death: Majorca, Spain (age 73)

Jean Batten's middle name is Gardner. Born in Rotorua, she became the best-known New Zealander of the 1930s, internationally, by making a number of record-breaking solo flights across the world.

Week 1 Day 2 Activity 2 One small step for a man

Howdy Guys and Girls,

I will be writing a poem about how I felt when I set my foot on the moon.
I hope you like it!

When I stepped on the moon,
It felt harder than a balloon.
It felt powdery and soft,
but not frost.
Time to go now,
if you've seen it, you would be saying wow.

What poems could you think of?
